[TheForge] emergency generator

Dan,

I don't think there is a "cleanness" issue with the items you want to back
up - well, refrigerator. Since you will not be doing a full stand-by
system, you should really think out how you want to setup your house. You
will need to isolate those circuits you want backed up so that you will only
feed those. For those circuits, you have to make sure there is a disconnect
from the utility grid prior to connection to the generator. If you are
looking at a welder/generator, you will want a manual rather than an
automatic transfer switch.

A source you might look at just to see some options is the Northern catalog.
They have generators and transfer switches.

what about the "cleanness" of the current do you need a filter or something
not to mess up the electronics in the house?
