Last night on History II "Voyages" had a 6 part series.  # 1 was "The
Japanese Sword"  They made the iron and steel from ore, then forged the
ingot, arranged pieces of ingot (iron and steel) and forged together, then
made a sword.  Quenching showed the sword bend into the curve.  There was
also use of the sword.

#2 was about building stone castles and had a blacksmith making hinges and
nails.

#3 was about armor.  It showed a modern smith making armor as well as
examples of historic armor.  

I don't know if the other 3 episodes will be on tonight.  Usually these
shows are shown in a couple of days in the daytime.
