Welcome to the club.

I think the best place to start is to tell us where you live.  From there 
someone can probably give you contact information for one of the ABANA 
affiliates and may also be in or know someone who is in your 
neighborhood.  There are members on this list from the all over the US, 
from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and lots of other places.  There are 
representatives here from all of the U.S. states from FL to AK, from ME to 
CA and WA.

Some of the local blacksmithing organizations are pretty laid back, others 
such as the Guild of Metalsmiths in MN have a very active organization and 
run classes and have meeting monthly.

So .... where are you?
