[TheForge] Alternatives to Pure Iron

Steve, Yeah I'll bet! Now that they can get 75 cents a pound (retail)
for angle iron and beams.........these mills are having a hay day.

I can just hear it now ............you want what?...........yeah
we'll be rolling that in about two years ........maybe. You want to put
your order in for 400 tons now?

It certainly gives credit to buying in bulk and keeping one's rack and
shelves full.

The old fellows that taught me early on about smithing said they used to
buy 1005 for all their forging. They gave it up when they couldn't get it
any more...........they said "you had to work to hard to move this new
material". Maybe it was they were 93 and 97........that could have had
something to do with it. :-)

Ralph
