yes, those are very original.

Dear Lou,
"Way Lube" is just oil that is supposed to be clingy, chain saw bar oil
works the same way, or you can put a squirt of "Slick 50" or any of the
"cling additives" you find at the auto parts store into gear oil.
I personally would use a light grease on any type of gearing, the oil will
creep off pretty quickly, unless the gears are dipping into some kind of
reservoir to pick up the oil constantly in use. Inside a case, with a
reservoir, some type of extra clingy oil would work fine on small gears, but
I would use 90WT "gear oil" with a cling additive.
By the way , I do not use "way oil" on any of my machine tool ways. I use
regular 20 WT hydraulic oil (No Way!) Way!. Any type of clingy oil just
attracts dirt which then grinds away the precision surface. I just pump good
clean oil through and it washes out any dirt, and constantly cleans the ways
from the inside out.
I used this "100 percent loss" method on my $40,000 CNC mill, and after 8
hrs/day for three years, there was not even a scuff mark showing on the
ways.
