[TheForge] Restoring a champion blower

There was a thread on this list a couple years ago on reconditioning Champion 400 blowers.  As I recall, the collective wisdom at that time was not to disassemble these blowers ... reportedly reassembly created some nightmares (don't recall the details, but seems it was something to do with the bearings).  Is this not true?  Are such blowers easy to reassemble once disassembled?  I'm open to some enlightenment here ...
