I contacted Barbara Barker from Pure Iron and asked about the prospects of
importing it to the USA. This was her response:

We have indeed looked into the question of shipping pure iron to Boston and
can offer the following:-

Price per shipment is £100 plus £150 per tonne or part tonne.
Therefore a one tonne load would cost £250 and a two tonne load £400 etc.
The price includes insurance and delivery to the docks. You would be
responsible for any import duties or other charges or taxes levied in the
US.

I have attached an Excel sheet which gives the price per tonne for each of
the sizes we have in stock. We can make up mixed loads of different sizes
but if you were to order a complete tonne of one size we can offer a 10%
discount for that tonne of material.

Our payment terms are payment with order in Sterling by bank transfer.
I hope this is useful and look forward to hearing from you.

An ideal solution would be for someone in the US to become an agent and to
hold stock for blacksmiths to buy - any ideas?

Best wishes
Barbara
