Dave, these puppies will compress air  just fine, but very slowly. When 
I was even poorer, I used one with a 300 gallon ex-propane tank to save 
up adaquate volume. I'd open the shop door and turn it on first thing 
every day. Be sure to have good quality, redundant , overpressure 
releases.......PeteF
