I bought a really nice saw from Ellis (remember Schade?) a couple
of years ago (best $2000 I ever spent). When I asked about a coolant
system they said not to use lubricant. They suggested using the saw
before I buy their cooling system which blows air onto the blade. I cut
a fair amount of various shapes and alloys and will not be investing in
a cooling system. A busy blacksmith friend of mine used a small cheap
horizontal bandsaw without ever using coolant. Never had a problem.
