Folks,

I have three lathes for sale as follow

2 Habegger toolmakers lathes. Capacity is about 8"x14". They have
been in storage for about four years with a friend. One has a W-25
spindle with Hardinge collet closer and about 100 Schaublin W-25
collets, many of them being the super precision variety, which are
ghastly expensive. The lathe has about $11K worth of collets, some
never used in sizes ranging from, IIRC, 1/16" up to 25 mm.

The other spindle is a 5C with perhaps 20 hardinge collets (don't
hold me to that number, it's been awhile).

Both bearing sets are in flawless condition, the lathes having
originally belonged to my friend Frank Lundy and tool and die
maker in NYC. He bought them brand new and used them for about
a dozen years before retiring. The machines have been maintained
properly and are in excellent mechanical condition. They are
both 3PH motors, but these are easily replaced by single phase if
needed. The W-25 spindle is flat belt drive whereas the 5C is
V-belt.

There is quite a selection of tooling including several 3 and 4 jaw
chucks in addition to the collets, screw tail stocks, 2 box-type
tool posts, a six or 8 position bed turret (about $4800 new) with
extra spiral shaft. Many tool holders, 2 precision die heads, and
more that I cannot recall at the moment.

Bed ways are in excellent condition - these are the old style beds that
are hand scraped on five faces, top, front, rear, and both ends.

New, there is easily $50K worth of well maintained tooling there.
I would like $4K for the pair. I don't want to sell separately
because I am not on location and would not know how to divvy up
the tooling. I'm sure you can resell a bare lathe for perhaps
$1500 and keep all the tooling for the other. Your choice.

Also, I have a very sweet 13 x 60 South Bend.

Plain bearing spindle on
tall legs. Full thread cutting in quick change gearbox, tail stock, and
I think there is a tool post. This belonged to an old T&D guy in NJ
who was anal about maintenance. The machine was kept by me in grease.
Some of the hand wheels got some very minor surface rust where I missed
with the grease brush, but I eventually got it all covered. The bed way
is in very fine condition with no signs of excessive wear. IIRC, there
were either two or three chucks and a face plate.

$1500. but I suppose I'm flexible. :)

Wilson 3RJ hardness tester.

This is, I believe, Wilson's largest bench
top mechanical tester. Again, I have not seen or used the device in
about 4 years, but it has been in safe storage the whole while. As I
recall, there were two diamond brales for Rockwell C scale and I believe
a carbide ball for B scale, as well as a test plate calibrated to, I
believe RC-62. I've used the tester many times and it has always been
accurate. I would like $500 for it. They sold for about $5K when
new. I think they still make them, believe it or not. You can still
get parts for them, just give a call if you need dash pot oil, which
at this point you may. I bought some, but have no idea where it went.
May be with the machine. If so, you will get it.

Oliver die filer.

This belonged to Chris Ray, my beloved elder uncle and smith
extaraordinaire.
It is the only physical tie that I have left of him. I bought it
perhaps
a year before he died when business wasn't quite so good. I really
don't
want to sell this, but... anyhow, it is in very good condition and I
would like to get $500 for it, but again, I am flexible so make an
offer.

Hamilton sensitive drill.

Built in 1943, weighs about 125#, built like a brick you know what.
1PH,
1/4hp motor, will take drills down to #80 and up to either 1/16 or 1/8.
It is in superb condition; a very flexible sensitive drill. Hamiltons
are the cadillacs of senstitive drilling and tapping machinery. If you
have need to bore very small diameter holes, this machine is a great
investment. I see the machinery guys selling them anywhere from about
$1000 to $3000 so I will ask $500, but remember I'm a gymnast.

I have other things, but I have to go find the list.

I hate to have to get rid of these things, but I have no choice. If
you or anyone you know would be interested, please let me know.

Thanks, and I apologize for the commercial ad. Poverty sucks ass.

Regards,

	-Andy

PS, these are all FOB Argyle, WI
