I have a number of VCR tapes that are nearing 20 years 
old, and still viewable. All of my blacksmithing tapes 
that I have purchased from Roger/ UMBA are as good as the 
day I got them.   However I was thinking that DVDs would 
be the way to go, for ease on watching these on my 
computer.

Web Article below stated that a company did a test of home 
recorded CDs.  They were made on a computer, then 
carefully protected / stored in the dark.  After 24 months 
of storage, about 10% of CD's were un-readable.  Guessing 
that home burned DVD's would be the same technology as the 
CD.

People are finding out that cds in general and burned cds 
in particular arent as durable as they were advertised to
