You need three coat of hammerite to work properly.
Tests at my place in Michigan shows two coats fail!!!
I stopper using Hammerite because it was too glossy
and it ran very easy...
Also my 4 year test is starting top fail...
I now sand blast to white, then shoot two coats of
ZRC cold galv. Then Shoot Two to Three coat of Any
GOOD exterior latex satin paint. I have had
installation last 5 to 7 years before you need to
repaint.
I have a $300 cobalt Hvlp gun with 1.8 and 2.2
openings the ZRC shoots with the 1.8 and the latex
shoots with the 2.2 It all works great. Just keep the
gun very very clean....
