[TheForge] outdoor finish,rust protection

Home Depot has a product called "the must for rust" comes in a spray =
bottle-spray it on ,the rust disappears , the bottle
says that the surface is protected from rust for a year. This
might be a good base for a waxed finish, I have not tried
it yet
