Especially useful for the younger generation. Instantly creates
hitheto uncontemplated hair styles and performs novel piercings.

The Chinese knockoffs can also be used as a personality test. I
recently blew about 10% of what the brand-name Vise-Grips(tm) cost
locally on 2 large and one small, C-clamp type.

The big ones were rendered just barely usable with some heat and only,
say, 15 minutes of work each. The small ones were totally
non-functional until I had ground out all the rivets, drilled all the
5mm holes to 1/4", re-shaped and re-drilled the release strut, made
new jaw pads, chased the threads on the (metric) screw and put it all
together again. The spring was perfect and required no attention.
(This may be the cheapest way to get replacement springs for older
brand-name tools. Front C$2.50, throw away the tool, keep the
spring.) Not wisdom, just pure pigheaded stubborness.
