Greetings All,

The Berkshire Blacksmiths Spring Meet, scheduled for March 14th, 2004 =
has been CANCELLED.

I am sorry to inform our members, or anyone reading this that had =
planned on attending, especially at this late date. It is due to a =
situation that is truly beyond our control. We apologize for the trouble =
this causes.

It is a disappointment, not least to our would-be host, Greg Phillips; I =
know you all will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

In keeping with the Short-Notice announcements, I should take this time =
to say we will be having a Meet hosted by Hampshire College (information =
was too late in coming to make it into our news letter). See the =
announcement below:

ANNUAL BLACKSMITHING MEETS
Each year as part of the Blacksmithing Program LATDC sponsors a one-day =
Blacksmithing Meet. Blacksmiths from around northern New England =
converge at the Lemelson Center for a day of demos, workshops, and =
project displays. Student blacksmith-enthusiasts from Hampshire and the =
surrounding Five Colleges meet local metal-smiths, get feedback on their =
own blacksmithing projects, and participate in the workshops and demos.

The title of this year's Blacksmithing meet is 'Artistry in Iron'. The =
keynote presenter, Susan Madacsi, is an accomplished blacksmith whose =
work ranges from sculpture to architectural decoration as well as =
functional items.

This year, due to inclement weather, the meet had to be postponed.
Please join us on the rescheduled date
at the Lemelson Center at Hampshire College
