Spent a good part of one summer rebuilding decks, and the handiest 
prybar I had was actually a spoon used for changing truck tires.  Based 
on that experience, I would definately  say mild steel wouldn't cut it.  
Actually, I lucked into a pneumatic nail puller that did a great job of 
making deck disassembly just that.
