This is precisely correct. The "motto", if you will, is
Safe, Sane, and Consensual. In non-patholigical S&M circles
there is no such thing as "subjugation of women". The women
who are bottoms, want to be subjugated. It's all a fantasy
thing and a means of being someone/thing else. It is also
something of a therapeutic thing for many. Many of the so-called
bottoms are high powered business types who need to release the
tensions of their responsible lives by being told what to do
and not having to make decisions. The whole scene is, as Phlip
puts it, a bit silly, but it is generally harmful. I've met a
few seriously pathological personalities, but they are the
exception. Oh yes, I'm not an S&M sort myself, but I've had
several friends that were and have attended, erm... "events".
Some was lame, some funny, some very erotic, and some just
plain scary. Just in case you were wondering. I'm sick and
twisted enough without adding this sort of thing into my mix. ;)
