hello;

this is true, however bulk tanks are covered under nfpa 58 while nfpa 54
applies to fuel gas inside structures.

basically, apples and oranges.

safety first.

flare fittings inside building with greater than 5psig is  
not wise.

brazed copper or brass pipe would meet the piping system is welded
requirement.
