I have the HF 50 ton hydraulic press. It is great, air driven jack so no
hand pumping plus a fast and slow hand operated levers, $709 delivered. A
nice hand crank for raising/lowering the bed.
But, for a wood splitter I don't know how you would power it. The air driven
cylinder pump is very slow and the cylinder only has a 6" stroke. You
certainly wouldn't go any faster with the hand pumps. A motor and pump would
drive the price way up there. So what you are really buying for a wood
splitter with this press is a short, undersized, slow cylinder pointing the
wrong direction. Of course if you really want the press, any excuse will do.
