Yea I would think with the trasaxle in there with the gearing it would be no 
problem handling a 125lb ram.What hp motor at what RPM are you running and is 
your clutch or starting and stopping the hammer belt tension between the motor 
and flywheel.My transaxle also has a brake so it would be easy to tie it in 
to a treadle so that by putting tension on the belt for drive it also released 
the brake to the transaxle and when you release tension on the belt it puts 
tension on the brake
