	You should check the fluids to see if they are fresh or
	burned and that levels are good.  Run the hydraulics with 
	a load to make sure the seals don't leak.  Check that the
	rods aren't pittted.  Make sure every axis of motion works
	properly to its extremes.  Check the hydraulic lines to
	verify that they are in good shape and not cracking.  If there
	are any quick disconnects, make sure there isn't any dirt
	in them.  It doesn't take that much sand in a coupling to
	foul up the cylinders.  If possible, try to lift the max
	rated load for the system.  If the cylinders are beat,
	the system may not be able to lift its rated load.  Also,
	lift a heavy load and shut down the tractor and leave it
	up for, say, 15 to so minutes.  If there is any significant
	sagging, the seals may be shot or there may be some other leak.

	I'm not a big expert in hydraulics, but these are the most
	obvious things I would look for.  I'm sure I have missed
	a few important items.
