Check for leaks on the engine, transmission, rear end and loader. Does it
start easy, smoke when it starts, if it does smoke, does it stop after
awhile. Before starting, check the oil and radiator.Try it in all the gears,
do both brakes work equally. Put the loader down with the bucket tipped and
try raising the front of the tractor up.
With the hours on the tractor and the age, anything could start going wrong.
Would I be affraid of it, no because I can work on it myself. Are you ready
to learn if needed? How much do the shop charge for labor down your way. If
possibe, get a manual for it and a parts book. How far away is a dealer in
case you need parts?
Just a few things to think about
In the US, Ford is now a part of Case New Holland
