That is a very reasonable price. Betty lamps sell routinely for $85 to $140 USD. I'd say buy it, and if you decide you can live without it after a bit, post it on ebay and make a few bucks. You will not lose any money.

I have four hanging in the house and I know I'd be slow to part with any of them. You might decide you want to have it around to enjoy more than the $69 you laid down.

Folks,<br><br>I was looking around in an antique joint last night and there was a<br>really cool betty lamp for sale.  The design was very different from<br>the ones we made at the folk school and much more elegant.  The main<br>pot was round and tapered downward at the sides with a slender spout.<br><br>It is all black, definitely hand made and appearing to have been raised<br>from a single sheet (no evidence of brazing where the sides meet bottom.<br><br>Anyhow, they want $69 for it.
