I have a striker, made in china, and for the money it is a good hammer.
The advantage is that it is a chambersburg clone, cast rather than
fabricated. The company that imports them, striker, is american, and
there is no reason to think they are any less well built than the
turkish ones. I have a big power sheet metal roll from turkey, and so I
am familiar with turkish build quality.
For the price, I think they are well worth looking at. They are a copy
of a good old american design, as opposed to a german one.
I have had mine for 2 years of very hard work, nothing has gone wrong,
and as someone mentioned, the natural resting position is with the tup
down.
