I have a Sayha from Tom Clark. The first hammer had some problems from a
factory misalignment of the drive shaft on the flywheel. The oscillation
wore out the bronze bushings at the wrist pin. There were three hammers
in the batch of twelve that Tom imported that had this problem. It was
the first time this problem had occurred and was new to Tom. He was very
responsive and after several phone conversations, sent parts to
hopefully correct the problem. When it became obvious that the parts
sent were not going to correct the problem, Tom drove to Oregon with a
new hammer...3 days ea way.
That was almost 2 yrs ago and I use the hammer daily, and sometimes
really hard. Its held up well. On Toms' last swing thru the NW, he
stopped and upgraded the hammer to newer specs...no charge.
Whatever hammer you decide to buy, be certain service is part of the
deal. I can't say enough good about Tom and the Sayha. I do wish Sayha
made a 200 lb hammer. :) If you buy a Chinese hammer, who you gonna call?
