	There's the operative term.  I've found that people generally
	are way too hard on their abrasives.  It's an easy thing to
	fall into.  I've done it myself often enough.  This is also
	true with files.  I've seen more files ruined because of
	trying to make them remove material beyond their capacity.
	The worst is with diamond abrasives.  Many folks don't know
	that the harder you press, the LESS work they do.  A light
	touch is all that's needed.
