Sorry Shannel I have to disagree with you. I made a JYH and I used a shock for
the spring. 40 lb ram with 10 lb heads. Works fine, and hits hard. You can

The trick to the hitting is that you have to make sure that the shock was
hitting when the wheel connection was at the horizontal and spinning down. (see
the URL) Basically has to it hit when the shock is moving at it's fastest. I
got my design from the NC-JYH on Anvilfire with lots of advice from the local
GoM friends and advice from Jock Dempsey.
