Ralph- I am hoping to make Ky. in July.
I'm glad to hear that the '06 conference is in Seattle. You'll have a place
to stay if you make it out. I'm not sure if it will be on the U of
Washington campus or not but that will be a great location if so.

Damascus:

I'm just really getting into the pattern welding thing and I'm torn with the
'paralysis of possibilities' as I call it. So far the majority of stuff I've
been trying is 1095 and L6 or some other unkown nickle stuff (saw blade) and
the results have been going well. I'm getting up the nerve to try some
different steels. I have buckets of 4300 and 5100 series steels as well as
some air hardening D2 and A2. Who has experience with welding air hardening
steel? I'd like to try these for some billets but all that carbon makes me a
little nervous. One way to find out, I guess.

Steve, Hope your taking some pictures of your projects in Damascus, would
love to see them as I have a knife maker friend that likes to experiment.

Think you might be coming to the ABANA conference? I'll be there - hope to
get to meet you.

Ralph
