One way would be to get lag hooks, burn off the chrome coating (don't
breathe the fumes), use a pair of bolt tongs to preserve the threads, hammer
the hook end to suit and paint it flat black.

Subject: [TheForge] Wood screw threads
> I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to make wood screw or lag
screw threads. I occasionaly make threaded ceiling or wall hooks and have
been just welding on the cut off threads from a lag screw. I would prefer
to make the whole thing in one peice and eliminate the less traditional
weld. Any help or ideas would be great.
