I have a friend that has a Johnson Gas Appliance Model 133B forge. It has
a 115 volt single phase Marathon motor for the blower. It puts out 400,000
BTUs and uses a 1" low pressure natural gas line. It was bought at an
auction (of the local school district metalworking shop) about 12 years
ago. It has been sitting in an unheated metal shed since then. More
details about the forge can be found at

The forge weighs about 500 pounds, and is located just east of Seattle,
Washington, USA. The forge has not been run since it was purchased, so I'm
not sure what shape the motor is in. The rest of the unit looks pretty
good to my inexperienced eye.
I thought I would help my friend sell this, but I'm not sure what a fair
price would be. I vaguely recall an auction about a year ago where a
similar one sold for around $1000 (but it was in active use at the
time). Anybody have an idea of a fair price? Anybody locally
interested? (This would be expensive to ship.)
Thanks!
Terry
