That is what I was doing, both save image and trying to save target as, 
but neither would work for me on Netscape 4.x   It works fine now on 
mozilla.   To the extent that they can, these sites will prevent you 
from saving images since they make their money on prints, not people 
downloading and saving them to print on their own.  Another site I visit 
is a collection of images of some really neat choppers.  When you try to 
right click and save on these images a message pops up and says " you 
don't think I was going to make it that easy on you"    You also see the 
same security features on web meetings as well.    I have been thinking 
about having a go at the mozilla source to disable some of the browser 
based security for my own personal copy.
