Mikey,
Our new Super Wide Oval Forges are made with the steel shell rolled as 
an oval tube rather than a round cylinder. This makes the forge wider 
but not taller. That allows wider parts to be heated with out 
drastically increasing the volume of the interior of the forge. The oval 
shape, like the cylinder provides the excellent support to hold the 
ceramic fiber refractory in place and good radiant heat and convection 
qualities. Since we roll our shells in house we can control the shape to 
suit the needs of a particular application or process. With energy costs 
soaring fuel efficiency becomes a big factor.
