Local Smith in Roswell Ga did some forging for his Pan. Looks nice.
Yes. It used to be about the Harleys, now it's a *&^@#$^& fashion =
show<G>.

You're correct, Ries, most Harley dudes (and metric cruiser dudes) do =
putt
along in groups and are like a moving road block. Partly to enjoy the =
ride
(i.e., scenery), but also to be 'cool' (i.e., to be seen). Someone once
said motorcycling is in large measure theater; hence the costume, both =
on
the rider and the bike. I like to think there's a connection between
blacksmithing and Harleys ... you know, Harleys are known as American =
Iron.
Of course, this could also apply to Indian (which has died again), =
Victory,
Big Dog, Red Horse, et al, which are USA-made. Incidentally, on a =
recent
episode of American Chopper, they had a blacksmith (sorry, I missed his
name) who forged a piece for their POW/MIA theme bike. It was a primary
belt drive guard, which was later chromed (yikes) for use on the bike.
Cool, though. And, Ries, you can get that Harley for your 50th birthday =
and
go riding with the pack ... :-) David Hufford

I like motorcycles- Really. And I think Harleys are cool. I would=20
probably have one- in fact, many years ago I wanted one, and I made a=20
deal with my wife that I could get one for my 40th birthday.=20
Unfortunately, 40 has come and gone, and I still have so many other=20
vices which cost money that I havent been able to bring myself to start=20
a new one.
