I would add that it was worth my time to visit him when I was starting out
(Don't miss out on dinner at his favorite Mexican restaurant--Yum!)
As to Larry Zoeller:
I just got a look at his new gas accelerators. The scamp has stolen a march
on me, and improved my design for the gas tube! He swages down the 1/8" steel
pipe nipple at its exit. What this does is improve internal velocity as the gas
inters the MIG tip. These accelerators are the heart of modern craft burner
design. The better the accelerator, the better the burner. This is especially
true in the smaller sizes. Congratulations to Larry Zoeller. These young
Turks...what can an old man do? How embarrassing--I will have to buy his
accelerators to put in my own burners! No doubt Jay Hayes will start selling improved
parts too, and I will be out of style before I ever come in :o)
