[TheForge] Mastermyr photo question...

True.
On many of the cameras today, you can simply turn a dial to tell the camera you
are shooting a portrait and not a landscape or vice versa. The intent is to try
to help the camera make certain adjustments automatically that one would
otherwise have to do manually, including exposure adjustments and whether the
camera adjusts the shutter speed or the lens aperture when making exposure
adjustments.
All of my comments on the subject are based upon using a totally manual camera,
or at least one which can be set up to be used manually. Using a camera that's
constantly trying to outthink me drives me as crazy as do the cars today that
try to figure out when I want the headlights on or off or when I want the doors
locked or unlocked. I prefer to take care of those decisions myself.

Whatever exposure method is used, the photo processor will attempt to
correct under or over exposure to get what they feel is correct.
