Toss a couple of those large silica gel packs you get with computer
equipment into your mig welder, that should help keep the moisture 
down. You could also just  store your welder in a climate controlled 
environment if you have one available.

If nothing else, after each use, pull the spool out and store in a sealed
tupperware container to isolate it from moisture.
