Nice job of cleaning up a mighty mangled message.

I recognize how nearly impossible it'd be to keep an appropriate number of
">" in these messages to help delineate who said what. I'm not suggesting
you even try, just wishful thinking on my part.

That said either 1 or 2 is fine with a slight leaning for 2.
