Frosty,

Up there, you can appreciate winter. Kinda miss it from back home and
in the UP. We appreciate it when it snows. Down here among a zillion
angry, self-absorbed commuters, cold and ice mostly makes everybody
even more angry and self-absorbed. When it snows, the city comes to a
halt, yuppies abandon their 4wd suv's in the middle of their freeway
lane (this really happens) and inexplicably feel safer getting get
rides from cabbies who have never before seen snow, driving rear-light
2wd's on all-seasons. But amazingly, beautifully, when it snows the
angry, self-absorbed people become happy and friendly...just don't try
to buy milk, bread, or toilet paper.
