Well after all that you are still stuck with Windows '98 and lots of
headaches and a day or two or a week of your time spent cussing the old
system. Your wife is mad at you and your kids won't talk to you and even
your dog is afraid to be at your feet. Take a visit to www.tigerdirect.com
and see the miracles that you can get for $500. I had a similar problem in
that way back in the late '90's I had the top of the line, state of the art
big bopper of a computer system with over $2k invested in it.
I found out that computer years are sortta like dog years, only worse.
7 or 8 years for a computer system is equivalent to 70 or 80 people years.
Now I know that some of our group will have all sorts of arguments to the
contrary, I'm not talking to them, I'm talking to the folks that have a
love/hate relationship with their computers. $500 in today's market will get
you a much faster, smarter, easier to use, bigger hard drive, more memory,
and updated everything than 2 grand would buy 8 or 10 years ago.

IT HAPPENS!!
I just spent the last 12 hours fighting with this computer. The mother board
died. No problem, I'll just put in another one. HAHAHA. Old software doesn't
like new computers and windows 98 didn't have drivers for new board either.
Ended up going to the scrap yard and getting an old computer like the one
that died and installed my hard drive in it. Then it only took 2 hours to
get the old drivers out and the ones I needed back in.
