Folks,
This may also be much ado about nothing... I've been reading some
milblogs
the last few weeks and the issue of armor is highly individual amongst
the
soldiers (or the few I've read). It turns a Highly Mobile Miltary
Vehicle
into Less Mobile. Aparently many don't like doors on their charges as
it
impedes rapid exit. Other things have pro's and con's as well and not
all
of them desire the armor. With 75% of them armored (news report)
there's
likely a large political aspect to it's profile in the news of late.
In other news, we had a bangup time in the forge yesterday. A friend
(electrical engineer) and his visiting friend (comp programmer) stopped
by
to feel the heat and beat on hot iron and we fashioned a couple of
bottle
openers for a quicky project that allowed them to take something home.
Got
me out of fr*(&%'n house remodeling for a fun while :)

-O'Gara, Hess and Eisenhardt is right up the road in Fairfield,
Ohio.
-
-They are the "production" armor plating business. A year ago
-they were doing something like 100 a month, then all of a
-sudden, they are now producing something like 450 a month, and
-still have capacity for more, and the pentagon just announced
-they have entered into negotiations to increase the
output.............
-
-Makes you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
