[TheForge] Sandblaster

I'd like to make a sandblaster.  Home Depot sells a Husky brand 
suction type setup where the sand is sucked up to the nozzle at the 
hand gun.  But I'd like to make the pressure feed type where the 
sand is sucked into the air stream before the hand gun.  The link 
below shows the type I'd like to make.

My problem is how this all looks at the outlet end.  I'd like to buy a 
silicon carbide nozzle (Coleman and Campbell-Hausfeld sells them 
for their units) but it seems that the air-sand mixture is going to 
chew things up pretty good before it gets to the nozzle and  I would 
like to know what I need between the end of the hose and the 
nozzle.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
