Dear Jerry,
I lost grip in one hand and was told by doctors and chiropractors,
that surgery would be required. I spent a whole year avoiding it and
getting cracked by the "quacks" and not getting much work done with
that hand, until I met an acupuncturist who immediately determined that
the problem had nothing to do with my wrist, she did acupuncture on my
upper arm and after just two sessions about two weeks, apart, the hand
began healing, I wore a brace and did exercises until the fingers
regained strength, and all was well.
I have since used acupuncture to treat a shoulder injury with the same
positive results.
FWIW, I would suggest giving acupuncture or rolfing a try, in that
order, before even considering surgery.
