Maybe something like the Coleman stove setup, with a single orifice instead
of the stove-type burner. Probably have to do a bit of testing, and there
go the eyebrows again.
Actually, the propane forges I now use are pretty good, and I don't have a
lot of time for testing and experimentation. I plan to save a lot of these
ideas for when I retire from the computer business and can do
blacksmithing/metalworking full-time. Of course, by that time someone will
have figured out how to use a battery of small lasers to heat his iron.
