Very simple, it just does.
I don't know the science, I just know it works. I have used the
Allstates torches (I have 3) for years and they work like magic. They
come with their own unadustable regulators which will put out a maximum
of 4 ounces (not pounds) of propane.
They throw out a tremendous amount of heat. They are made by Harris for
Allstates. Harris has one that looks exactly like the one they make for
Allstates but without the patented interior. My friend has one and I
have compared them several times. For example, the Allstates will heat a
5/8 inch round stock to bending temp in 12 seconds. The Harris takes 22
seconds. My friend gets the same results and wishes he'd bought the
Allstates.
And just putting a propane tip on the acetylene torch doesn't come
close.
Sometimes the tables don't tell the whole story (or maybe they are
wrong). I hate to admit it, but Frosty is right.
