On the other hand, in my 300 square feet, wall space is at a premium. 
Since I do this for a hobby, I don't need tons of stock. My stock 
storage is in horizontal wall racks, all of which are about 7' off the 
ground. At 10' the shop is wide enough that the builder had to put a 
beam across (upstairs is hay storage). I've got a rack on both sides of 
the beam. I am going to weld some pipe sections or something to a piece 
of plate and store shorts vertically against the wall behind my saw.
