Hey Andy,
Look on the photo access site in shop pics, page 3, the last 3 pics.
I've been working in this shop for 6 years now.
The cupola hole is about 8 ' in diameter. the shop diameter is 36'.
I built it to maximize building strength, air exchange and versatility in a
warm environment.
If I was building it in a colder area, I would add louver panels in the
cupola opening to control the air flow.
I think it is more efficient than a square or rectangular shop. And the Jib
crane will reach every square foot of the floor space, so no need to build
carts or put wheels on the equipment to move it.
My only regret is that I made the walls 10 ' tall instead of 12' and I
didn't make the overhang larger.
