If you used a 24' truss across your top, you would have about
8' of "veranda" on one side of the building. If you install
an 8' wide entrance, say, a sliding door, you could have one
hell of a nice workspace in the weather.

Actually, I picked up a copy of the July/August 2004 issue of The Family
Handyman because it has a "Rustic Yard Shed" pictured on the cover that is just
about what you describe above. The enclosed portion of the shed (with large
sliding door, several windows, and concrete slab floor) is only 10x12 but
could be easily enlarged. The plan used 18 foot trusses to provide a 4 foot
eave on both sides, and they extended the roof 6 feet on one end to provide a
large covered area. Not an ideal plan but a good source of ideas. I'd love to
have a building like this myself, only a bit larger in all dimensions.
