A good idea, especially if you build in a very broad eave on
one side of the building, say, 8' for it's length. You have
an outdoor shop. Put in a nice wide entry and you're good for
hot weather work. I used to forge outdoors in the blazing
Arizona sun in 115 degree weather, with no cover. I got used to
it, but after 6 hours of that, and about two gallons of sweat
later, you do feel it. However, I can say that forging outdoors
is a great pleasure, at least for me. My point is that cover
from the sun is a good thing.
If you used a 24' truss across your top, you would have about
8' of "veranda" on one side of the building. If you install
an 8' wide entrance, say, a sliding door, you could have one
hell of a nice workspace in the weather.

Note the many windows and large doors. It's all about me. :)
