I certainly sympathize with your not being able to afford a name brand
unit.
Keep in mind, however, that plasma cutters are not anywhere as simple a
machine as an arc welder. The consumables may fit, but the machine
(likely) is not the same internally. This will affect both usability and
consumable life.
What size unit are you looking at?
