[TheForge] cleaning flux

I've been doing some semi-production work that involves forging parts that
are then arc welded into products and given a hot oil finish.  On the last
batch when I went to deliver them I noticed that the pieces had corrosion
around the welds.  I presume that this is from the flux reacting with the
humidity.  I had chipped and wire brushed the parts after welding and there
wasn't any visible flux showing.

Would washing the parts remove this or do I need more drastic measures?
This job is already not very profitable and I hate to waste even more time
on clean up.
